Digitmovies continues its journey to the discovery of the soundtracks from the movies starring cool Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, releasing on CD for the first time the complete original soundtrack by Guido & Maurizio De Angelis from the 1976 movie “Il soldato di ventura” (aka Soldier of Fortune) directed by Pasquale Festa Campanile and starring Bud Spencer, a Box office hit in the ’76-’77 cinematographic season. Another CD project made again possible thanks to the cooperation of C.A.M. in whose archives the original 1976 session stereo master tapes were kept. In those days C.A.M Issued only a 45 rpm single in stereo (C.A.M. AMP 169) featuring the vocal version on side A and the instrumental version on side B of “Oh! Ettore”, the Main theme of the OST. The De Angelis Bros. succeed to describe musically the historic figure of Ettore Fieramosca (hero during the Barletta siege) with joy and elegance writing a monothematic score where the Ettore Theme, continuously varied, follows the character during all his adventures. The leit motif is performed by the Nora Orlandi male choir with a bass tone solo voice that perfectly “dubs” the corpulence of Bud Spencer with a bucolic performance of Middle Age flavoured flutes. This omnipresent main theme is reprised slowly in Tr.2 and faster in Tr.4 or in the long suite edited with variations on the main theme (Tr.9).This Cd also contains court music (Tr.7, Tr.17), fanfares (Tr.3, Tr.14), suspense music (Tr.9, Tr.13, Tr.15) and church music for liturgical organ (Tr.11) .The Cd closes with three rare bonus tracks: an alternate version with different performance of choir (Tr.19) of “Accampamento” (Tr.6) and the vocal and instrumental versions of the original single (Tr.20,Tr.21).
