Matrimonio Con Vizietto (Il Vizietto III)
Artists: Ennio Morricone
Digitmovies presents for the first time (on the Italian territory, just to be correct, considering the already existing French version with inferior graphic design) a de-luxe CD edition of the complete original motion picture soundtrack of “Matrimonio con vizietto” (aka “La Cage Aux Folles 3: the wedding”) directed by Georges Lautner in 1985, featuring a very lovely music score by Ennio Morricone. The third chapter of “Il vizietto” tells the new and always more funny adventures of the homosexual couple of Renato (Ugo Tognazzi) and Albin (Michel Serrault): Renato has serious financial troubles that might result in the closure of the club “La cage”. Their only hope is to get the considerable inheritance of a rich Scottish uncle of Albin. The problem is that Albin can inherit his uncle’s fortune when he gets married and will have a child within a year! After having scored the previous two “La Cage aux Folles” movies (scores available on CD on the C.A.M. label) Ennio Morricone wrote a sweet and romantic original soundtrack based on the “Love theme” called “Now it’s up to me” that opens our CD with the vocal version sung by Tilda (Tr.1). This particular love theme is reprised later by orchestra with sax (Tr.3, Tr.14), by strings/orchestra (Tr.6, Tr.16) and by oboe and orchestra Tr.18). The instrumental version of the pop-flavoured main title song is presented as Tr.9. The second main theme, “Ask me”, is presented here in two vocal versions, sung by Tilda (Tr.7) and by Sam Jordan (Tr.13). Two instrumental versions are included: a gentle one for violin and orchestra (Tr.5) and a more dance version (Tr.10). But this Ost is also rich of funny themes (Tr.4,Tr.17) and a synth-disco cue based on “”Flight of the Bumblebee”, the famous orchestral interlude written by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov” (Tr.8). Another important theme is the bucolic theme of ancient flavour: “Castelli di Scozia” (Tr.2) that puts in evidence all the extreme sweetness of the creative force of Ennio Morricone. Beside the inedit alternate versions of the album tracks, as special bonus track we enclose an inedit short version of “Castelli di Scozia” edited few years ago by the composer himself especially for a promotional spot directed by Giuseppe Tornatore dedicated to MUTAC, the Museum of Farm Arts and Traditions placed in Picciano, close to Pescara, where Digitmovies has its head quarters.
