Digitmovies is pleased to publish the complete edition CD of the OST by Ennio Morricone for the comedy movie “Quando le donne avevano la coda” (“When women had tails”). (CD in full stereo, 54:49 minutes)
Soundtrack information:
For our CD we were able to access the master tapes of the recording sessions where we discovered around 21 unedited minutes approved by the author. Ennio Morricone has written a lively and cheerful OST. It features an orchestra with beat arrangements and an amazing performance by the Cantori Moderni choir by Alessandroni. With Edda Dell’Orso, an exceptional vocalist.
Previously C.A.M had issued a 33-rpm (SAG 9032) with eleven stereo tracks (33:52 minutes). It was reissued on CD in Japan (Seven Seas/King Records KICP-3204) and on CD in Italy, (CAM 495375-2) combined with the music of Bruno Nicolai for the sequel “Quando le donne persero la coda” (aka “When women lost their tails”).
Movie synopsis:
“Quando le donne avevano la coda” (“When women had tails”) 1970, directed by Pasquale Festa Campanile
Story:
This is a comedy about some cavemen (troglodytes) who grow up in a desert-like area. One day they discover a new animal never seen before in one of their traps. It is a woman, but they are unaware of this fact. Accustomed to feeding on all sorts of living things, including their own kind, they prepare to eat the strange creature. The task of killing it is entrusted to the young Ulli (Gemma). The woman has a tail but she is much more intelligent than them. She is called Filli (Berger) and manages to convince her executioner to spare her and to spend time together. Ulli falls in love and hides Filli in a cave. However, it’s not long before other men start visiting her as well. Eventually the woman becomes tired of playing love games will all the men and decides to run away with Ulli. After a futile pursuit, the troglodytes discover that Filli is not the only existing woman. They are captured by a tribe of aggressive females and forced to endure their excessive love.
